Joyville, Inc. is a retail company located in Dallas, Texas. We operate four retail concepts: Favor the Kind, ROAM Fine Goods, Earnest John, and The Friend Ship.

We are hiring a Social Media Captain to assist with the marketing department's content creation initiatives.

This entry-level role will report to the owner. 

The Social Media Captain will play an integral part in the success of the company by:

• Participating in brand strategy meetings
• Efficiently managing content creation assignments
• Partnering with the buying department to align on content relevance
• Contributing to the brand's voice through captions and photography
• Partnering with the store's Social Media Drivers to create authentic storytelling

 A typical week consists of:

• A 40-hour predictable work schedule from 9:30-6 pm.
• Occasional weekend work when content capture is needed for events.
• A time-mapped schedule allocated:

1. 20% to planning and communication
2. 40% to photography in multiple locations
3. 40% to editing, graphic design, and content scheduling

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• Time Management: Excellent prioritization skills through time mapping
• Communication: The ability to communicate a brand message through writing, graphic design, and video. This includes storytelling through copywriting and messaging.
• Instagram/Meta: Understanding the best practices for Instagram and Meta, including who uses them, what types of media are allowed, and when to post. Candidate must be well-versed in Instagram tools and tricks. 
• Creativity and design: The ability to create compelling graphics, photos, and videos. Apps primarily used are Planoly, Photoshop, Canva and Temply.
• Analytical skills: Understanding social media analytics and pivoting when messaging or targeting isn't working.
• Adaptability: Being able to move quickly and adapt to trends.
